  1. this week I decided to take on the trash collecting challenge and see just how much trash I produced in 24 hours. Throughout the day I stuck to it and made sure I put everything inside a bag, and during this process I thought about a few things. I noticed that since it was a school day, I wasn't really utilizing anything wasteful for most of the day, but a majority of the waste came from morning, lunch, and dinnertime as I consumed food, the containers and bags used to store said food would be thrown away. Looking back at the last week, We went under a no impact challenge to lower our impact on the environment, and I chose to stop using plastic water bottles and plastic bags for lunch food. With this challenge already taken, I believe that this influenced me to limit the amount of trash that I produced yesterday while I took the trash collecting challenge. After completing this challenge I got to get a glimpse of the effect I could really have on the environment based just solely upon trash and waste. Now I know what I can do to lessen my specific impact on our climate, and with the new knowledge gained I can help spread the word to others as well.

  2. Yesterday I decided to complete this blog challenge. I started by emptying my backpack and using it as a place to keep my waste. Immediately, I was inclined to bend the rules. I did not keep any waste from my meals in my bag because it was too gross to do. I think this may have taken away from the effect the challenge was supposed to have on me. At the end of the day, most of the stuff in my backpack was reusable stuff that I tend to throw away. I think that I will not be able to do this every day but it did change me. I will now be more assertive with recycling products such as paper and water bottles when I can.

  3. I did this challenge yesterday and I was very disappointed with the number of items I didn't recycle that I should have. I gathered a total of 65 items and 12 of them could be reused. I didn't really realize beforehand how much trash I did go through in one day until I did this challenge yesterday. I collected everything except like banana peels and gross objects like those. But overall, I was pleased with doing this challenge. Thought it was a great learning experience and can see myself doing it every now and then to make sure I am making the right decisions with what to do with my trash.
